Award of Bid: Liquid Sodium Hypochlorite, Purchase/Delivery - IFB 57-0-2020 - Utilities Department (Allied Universal Corporation - $175,576 (estimated annual expenditure).


The Utilities Department uses liquid sodium hypochlorite in the treatment process at the North and South Regional Water Treatment Plants for the disinfection of the potable water supply; and at the North Regional Water Reclamation Facility for the disinfection of the reuse water supply. 

 

Four (4) bids were received in response to the City’s solicitation, two (2) of which were No Bids.  Procurement staff has reviewed the bids for responsiveness.  Utilities staff evaluated the bids for responsibility and ability to perform the scope of services.  The Department found the lowest responsive bid to be acceptable. 

 

Staff recommends Allied Universal Corporation as the vendor to provide liquid sodium hypochlorite. 

 

Local preference was not applied as the contractors are located outside of Brevard County.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The estimated annual expenditure for the duration of the contract is $175,576.  Funding is available in Utilities operating funds 421-8023-533-5202, 421-8024-533-5202, 421-8034-535-5202.


RECOMMENDATION:

Motion to 

approve award of IFB #57-0-2020/SZ, Purchase and Delivery of Liquid Sodium Hypochlorite to Allied Universal Corporation located in Miami, Florida.  The term is for one-year with the option to renew for an additional four (4) one-year terms; the total term not to exceed five (5) consecutive years.
