The Brevard County Sheriff's Office has received notification of the 2019/2020 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG). Funds received through the grant are used to help operate the Prisoner Transport Program which transports arrestees from locations throughout the County to the County Jail. This year's grant allocation is $145,587, a $3,609 decrease from the previous year's funding. The Brevard County Sheriff's Office handles the additional funds required for operation.
In order to authorize the grant funding, each city or municipality must submit a letter of support to continue the use of JAG funds for the Prisoner Transport Program.
